SU Retirement Party

I attended an SU retirement party last nite and got to learn and try some new things I had never done before. One of which was using a water brush. I have to get one now!! You can see it in the bucket of apples card below.

The other thing I tried was using the stamps that have a base and an outline. I definitely still need some practice as you can tell in the flower on the right. :-P

The last card I made was really simple and nice. I did end up ordering this paper since it was retiring. :)

The order I had placed a couple weeks ago came in and I can't wait to use my new stamps and punch!!

Camera Fun

In my previous blog, I was having trouble taking photos of my stuff. Today, I decided to see if I could cross this task off my list. I messed around with the lighting and camera angles, but I am not quite 100% satisfied. I think I am still needing something else to help me make it the way I want it.

Below are some pictures that I thought were not too bad, but not quite bright enough for me.

Stamping Bella - "Matilda Muffinbread" Test Shots:

Kim Hughes - "U R A HOOT" Owl Test Shots:

My ultimate goal: complete white background like the pics below, but with a richer color.

Needless to say, this test run has a huge improvement from the old photos so I'm happy! ^_^

Organization Freak

Okay, so I have this problem with organizing stuff, especially with all the scrapping things I have.

A few weeks ago, I replaced the desk in my office with an L-shaped desk so I could separate the Mac and the PC.
My old desk was from IKEA with a built-in glass plate on one side of it. I had planned on adding a light fixture to it to use as a light source or tracing table, but I never got around to doing that. Now that it's my crafting table, it is next on my list! :)

Over the weekend, I felt this urge to not be a portable scrapper anymore. I figured that when it's time to pack up, it forces me to pack things I need rather than everything I have. So with that plan in mind, shelving was put in using the Rubbermaid Fast Track system. It is intended for garage storage, but I thought it would fit my needs.

I also purchased a Closet-Maid Stack-a-Shelf for $7 at Home Depot to put on my desk to give me extra shelving space while I work or storage when I'm not working on anything. If I needed more of these, I can get another one and it stacks right on top of the existing one.

I found this $5 over-the-door hanging bag at Target. I thought it would work well with any items that I needed access to but didn't have a spot for it on the shelf. The color wasn't quite what I wanted, but I guess you can't be too picky for $5. :-P

After all it is said and done, the total cost was about $75. Not too bad!! ^_^

Changing Web Locations

As much as I love my Mac and using it to do everything, it seems to be having issues with publishing since the switch to MobileMe. I'll try this out and see how I like it - I've only used it once before for a class and it was easy to use, but I never used it to post images or anything.
